Corteva Agriscience is seeking a dedicated professional to join our team in the central coordinating body within the Population Development group, driving operational excellence and collaborative innovation to advance the development of new crop varieties for farmers worldwide. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of plant biology, be comfortable using computers and mobile devices, and enjoy working in both indoor and outdoor environments. This role requires the ability to apply Mendelian genetics to interpret genotypic and phenotypic data, as well as to design complex crossing strategies to achieve deliverables. We’re looking for someone with a positive, collaborative attitude, strong communication and critical thinking skills, and a creative approach to problem-solving. This is a full-time position based on the island of Kaua‘i, Hawai‘i, and includes supervisory responsibilities over a team of Technicians.

What You'll Do:
Design planting layouts using principles of Mendelian genetics and information on the deliverables
Maintain and update internal databases
Organize and sort through large datasets
Manage seed inventory: Receiving, Shipping, Sorting, and Storage
Coordinate with other groups to ensure key steps are completed in a timely and collaborative manner
Communicate openly with team and supervisors
Promote positive work attitudes and harmonious relations
Supervise full-time employees and contingent workers, ensuring work is performed in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with protocols and regulations
Willing and able to work flexible schedules and weekends during peak periods when required
Support all goals of the Hawaii Research Center and support other projects when needed
What Skills You Need:
High school diploma with 3-4 years OR associate’s/bachelor’s with 1-2 years of experience
Understand and be able to apply Mendelian genetics
Knowledgeable in plant biology and agronomy
Ability to manage people
Ability to work as part of a larger, culturally diverse group, as well as independently when needed
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Organization and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and priorities
Ability to bend, reach, and lift repetitively. Occasionally required to carry 20-50 lbs
Tolerance, willingness, and ability to work in warm conditions and variable environments
Computer competency
