Training & Onboarding Manager - O&M

Summary: The Training & Onboarding Manager is responsible for the successful development and execution of onboarding activities and training programs across RES’ North American Operations & Maintenance (O&M) portfolio. This position plays a critical role in facilitating the transition of renewable energy projects—wind, solar, and energy storage—from construction to commercial operation, while also designing and delivering structured training initiatives for field and office staff on the company’s CMMS platform and O&M standards. This position will develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure that all RES O&M staff are equipped with the equipment, skills and knowledge needed to operate and maintain assets in accordance with company policy and safety standards. Requirements: + Delivers structured onboarding programs for site teams, with targeted training on RES operational policies, safety practices, and CMMS tools tailored to each facility and role. + Manages the end-to-end onboarding process of renewable energy facilities into RES operations, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient transitions in accordance with construction contracts, O&M agreements, Owner’s requirements and corporate standards. + Serves as a central point of coordination across Construction, Asset Management, Engineering, Safety, and Compliance to establish operational readiness, ensure procedural alignment, and confirm deliverables for site acceptance. + Supports the interpretation of complex project agreement negotiations involving owners, off-takers, contractors, and internal stakeholders, ensuring all contractual obligations are clearly defined and met during the onboarding phase. + Monitors and reports on commissioning progress, proactively identifying delays, equipment faults, missing components, and retrofit requirements that could impact operational transition; ensures timely escalation and transparent communication with leadership. + Manages contractor performance, safety compliance, and quality control during the onboarding process; oversees documentation and readiness for NERC and regulatory compliance. + Maintains centralized data systems and Utilizes data to develop and update processes and SOPs. + Administers CMMS implementation and user training during onboarding, including asset structure setup, preventive maintenance, inspections, inventory, and work order management. + Hosts training workshops and refresher sessions to reinforce procedural adoption, safety accountability, and cross-functional communication throughout the operational lifecycle. + Collaborates with Procurement, Finance, and O&M leadership to align onboarding activities with operational budgets, equipment handover, and resource readiness. + Represents the onboarding and training program in client engagements, audits, and business development discussions to demonstrate RES’s operational excellence and commitment to workforce capability. + Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected. + Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies & Procedures. + Serves as a subject matter expert for CMMS capabilities and integration with RES O&M workflows. + Promotes a culture of continuous learning, operational excellence, and safety compliance through proactive training and mentoring. + Assists in evaluating new CMMS functionalities and onboarding tools for scalability and training impactSafety: + Presents, supports, and leads-by-example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude. + Leads by example to show that safety is the most important function, ensuring that all employees follow safe practices while working. + Accountable to continually reinforce safe behaviors and correct “at risk” behaviors. + Adheres to and ensures all site team members understands standard operating procedures. + Leads and supports the site team in technical, quality and safety, utilizing system in place. Safety: + Follows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action. + Ensures that safety is the most important function, follows safe practices while working. + Reinforces safe behaviors and eliminates “at risk” behaviors. + Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly. + Ensures Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s) occurs before scopes of work commence. + Adheres to and understands standard operating procedures. + Receives job- and task-specific training prior to work commencing. Qualifications: + Associate’s degreerequired. + Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred. + 3+ years of Site construction, commissioning, or operational experience preferred. + 1+ year of office-based management experience required. + Advanced knowledge of CMMS systems (implementation, training, reporting) + Strong instructional design, training facilitation, and adult learning principles. + Understanding of network equipment, troubleshooting. + Ability to communicate technical procedures clearly and effectively to diverse teams. + Ability to develop relationships across teams and influence adoption of new processes and systems. + Understanding of accounting concepts. + Basic electrical (low voltage) and switching (high voltage) knowledge or experience. + Basic mechanical skills. + First Aid and CPR. + Familiarity with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements including NERC and OSHA. + Functional competencies include collaboration, customer focus, prioritization, excellence, and accountability. + Domestic travel 5-15%. + Valid Driver’s license required. Anticipated base salary range: $72,000 - $90,000 The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is bonus eligible.
