Your Key Responsibilities
The Training Instructor at Schaeffler’s Dover, Ohio E-Mobility Plant will be responsible for delivering comprehensive training programs to apprentices and employees in various technical fields. The role entails classroom instruction, practical exercises, and hands-on learning experiences. The instructor will work closely with apprentices to monitor their progress and act as a mentor, and will collaborate with plant management to assess and address training needs. This role also involves partnership with local schools to create awareness of job opportunities and support workforce development.
Responsibilities:
Conduct classroom sessions, exercise courses, and practical work experiences with a focus on technical skills and applications. Serve as the main point of contact for a group of apprentices, monitoring their progress and providing support in learning and development. Design and improve education programs specific to technical competencies. Assist in the overall development of training curriculum and learning materials. Organize and plan training schedules, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Provide detailed training content and schedules. Offer individual coaching to trainees, focusing on both functional skills and employment-related matters. Handle all administrative tasks related to the vocational program. Communicate with administrators and external education partners to ensure program effectiveness. Work with plant management to identify future training needs. Develop and implement programs that meet evolving skill requirements. Partner with local schools to enhance awareness of job opportunities. Help build a pipeline for the future workforce. Your Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree and/or Journeyperson’s Certificate in Trade or related field or related experience. Alternative applicable work experience may be considered. Proficiency in relevant technical skills, including: Blueprint reading PLC operation and programming Pneumatics/Hydraulics Welding processes Wiring - control/relay Electrical & Vision systems Mechanical components Robotics, Automation, AI Applied mathematics Previous supervisory experience preferred. Knowledge of current quality specifications.
