The primary purpose of this position is: Serve as an Aircraft Propulsion Maintenance Training Instructor performing all training instructor classroom-related activities, assists in course curriculum development, modification, and/or revision efforts in advanced and/or supplemental training courses utilizing approved curriculum IAW AETC instructions. Responsibilities Instructs students through assigned blocks of instruction of supplemental and advanced technical levels of aircraft propulsion courses. Researches, develops, revises and updates aircraft propulsion course materials in accordance with established learning objectives. Plans, develops, executes, and evaluates a comprehensive and effective training program. Maintains professional and technical proficiency and accomplishes difficult, but well precedented special projects related to specialty area, to include staff surveillance visits to various training activities. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, to include the Individual Occupational Requirements (IOR) for the GS-1712, Training Instructor series. Knowledge of the principles, practices, instructional methods and design at a practical level to maintain subject matter experience. Knowledge of course development, validation and implementation to include tests and measurement principles, techniques, and objectives. OR EDUCATION: Successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree OR LL.B or J.D. with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
