The Valent BioSciences manufacturing site located on an expansive 73-acre site in Osage, IA is a state of the art 130,000 square foot plant and is the largest purpose-built biorational facility in the world. It serves as the manufacturing and quality control center for Valent BioSciences broad portfolio of fermentation products.
Description of Job:
As the Training & Development Partner at Valent BioSciences, you will design and deliver training programs that promote employee growth, operational effectiveness, and compliance. In this role you will ensure employees receive tailored learning through classroom, hands-on, and computer-based training aligned with role requirements and development goals.
In addition to training, you will manage talent acquisition, onboarding, and workforce development to ensure a smooth and engaging hiring experience. You will also oversee the Learning Management System (LMS), internship programs, and partnerships with educational institutions to build a strong talent pipeline.
This role partners with VGC Corporate HR to align training and development initiatives with enterprise-wide strategies, ensure policy compliance, and leverage shared tools and best practices.
Essential Functions
+ Employee & Leadership Development
+ Conduct learning needs assessments and identify performance gaps to prioritize training.
+ Collaborate with leaders and SMEs to design role-specific training aligned with business goals.
+ Define training requirements by position and implement programs that support job effectiveness and career growth.
+ Manage learning and internship grant programs in compliance with funding requirements.
+ Coordinate with vendors for outsourced training solutions.
+ Serve as the site SME for the Learning Management System (LMS), managing tracking, reporting, and training delivery at the Osage site.
+ Collaborate with the HR Business Partner to support leadership development initiatives by coordinating logistics, facilitating foundational sessions, and contributing to content development
+ Talent Acquisition & Workforce Development
+ Own and manage the full recruitment and onboarding lifecycle, collaborating with the HRBP for strategic or high-volume support.
+ Manage job postings, candidate screening, interviews, and job offers.
+ Develop and execute strategic recruitment campaigns, including advertising and sourcing strategies to attract high-quality talent.
+ Facilitate new hire orientation, compliance training, and role-specific onboarding in partnership with hiring managers to ensure a smooth and engaging experience.
+ Oversee the internship program, including recruitment efforts, career fairs, and relationships with schools and universities to build future talent pipelines.
+ Training Administration & Compliance
+ Facilitate engaging training sessions using effective delivery techniques.
+ Analyze feedback and evaluations to drive continuous improvement.
+ Conduct training audits to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards.
+ Align development programs with performance expectations.
+ Schedule and manage refresher training based on supervisor input and performance trends.
+ Maintain accurate training records, including attendance, certifications, and completion data.
+ Support training and onboarding needs across all shifts in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications and Education
+ Bachelor’s degree in Education, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
+ 5+ years of experience in training, talent development, or human resources, with a proven record of designing and delivering learning programs.
+ Experience developing and managing onboarding processes and training initiatives.
+ Flexibility to support training needs across shifts.
+ Strong collaboration skills with the ability to partner with leaders, employees, and SMEs.
+ Excellent facilitation and communication skills, adaptable to various learning styles.
+ Strong project management and organizational abilities with capacity to manage multiple initiatives.
+ Working knowledge of employment law and compliance as it relates to training and recruitment.
+ Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with discretion.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
+ HR certifications (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP/SCP) preferred.

Base Salary: The estimated annual base salary for this position ranges from: $75,400 to $92,300. Individual pay is based upon location, skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
Incentives: All full-time employees are eligible for an incentive program or profit-sharing program in addition to their base salary.
