Raba Kistner is seeking a detailed-oriented, dependable Training Coordinator to join our Construction Materials Testing team in Austin, TX. T The Training Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and delivering technical, safety, and procedural training for field personnel in materials testing and inspection. Ensures compliance with industry standards and certification requirements, maintains training records, and supports field operations through hands-on instruction and equipment coordination. This role requires strong communication, field presence, and adherence to safety protocols. Other responsibilities include:

Coordinate, track, and carry out practical training, re-training (including correction), training verification, certification, and proficiency samples of field personnel. Taught procedures must conform to the standard of practice and applicable ASTM, TxDOT, US Army Corps of Engineers, and/or other specified methods.Training will include:Practical, technical, and safety aspects of soils, concrete, and HMA testing, observation, and inspection.Paperwork and documentation of testing, observations, and inspection, and personnel certification and training (internal and external). This includes proper billing and invoicing efforts.Calibration, maintenance, and proper operation of equipment.Proper behavior, ethics, integrity, and comportment in the field and in the officeCoordinate regularly with supervisory staff and Field Dispatcher.Plan, coordinate, and communicate (in consultation with supervisory staff and employees) training plans for individual employees.Document training efforts, at a minimum in the RKIS database system (or equivalent as directed).May be asked to assist in coordinating and tracking training efforts for laboratory personnel.Physically perform test to demonstrate the testing process and inspection in the field as required.Set the example of proper practices, behavior, and attitude for field personnel.Regularly communicate and coordinate equipment needs as part of training, retaining, and training verification.Represent the company in a professional manner through face-to-face, verbal, and written communication. This includes communication with clients, coworkers, project managers, and others.Meet priorities and deadlines as directed by Supervisor.Operate in a safe manner. This includes company vehicles and understanding, adhering, and participating in the Raba Kistner Health and Safety Program.Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or General Education Development (G.E.D.)Must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and the ability to demonstrate mastery of the subject matter in which the Training Coordinator will be responsible to train team members.  Demonstrated expertise in the standard of care and state-of-the-practice methodologies for construction materials testingAbility to teach, guide, and lead other field technicians.Possess valid driver’s license in applicable jurisdiction and meet firm’s auto insurability requirements.

Ability to read and understand instructions, labels, reports, etc. Good oral and written communications skills and ability to work in teams at different levels within the organization. Intermediate in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Vision requirements are Close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision. The noise level for this position is loud. 

Position may require protracted or irregular hours. Flexibility to work irregular hours is necessary due to client needs. Work responsibilities require out-of-town travel to Raba Kistner offices, client offices and project locations.
