Role Overview: The Training and Staff Development Coordinator will support a need for expanded curriculum review, analysis, and development associated with staff training programs at the Department of Child Services. We are looking for a bright, enthusiastic candidate from a training, education, social work, policy, or writing/editing background to assist a growing team tasked with the coordination and implementation of virtual and in-person trainings used across the organization and potentially in its parent or provider networks. This position is a great opportunity for someone who is interested in a critical mission, is well organized, can be flexible/agile, and who may not have existing experience in child or human services. This position is in the central DCS offices in Indianapolis, Indiana. Salary: This position traditionally starts at an annual salary of $42,900 but may be commensurate with education and job experience. A Day in the Life: The essential functions of this role are: + Assist with the planning, coordination, development, performance, and evaluation of the training programs for a state agency, including researching, designing, developing, and executing strategies to achieve agency purpose, goals, and objectives. + Coordinate, develop, and instruct training programs as needed at regional training locations and facilities throughout the State at various locations. + Assist with evaluating proposed and existing staff training content and delivery strategies to ensure current policies, procedures, standards, and best practices are incorporated. + Monitor, test, and ensure the integrity of Enterprise Learning Management system and provides functional and technical support as required. + Assist with efforts to develop web-based training solutions for compliance training. + Conduct Orientation, In-Service, On the Job Training or Academy instruction for all staff. + Test, measure, and evaluate trainee performance and makes recommendation on retention or working status. + Prepare and distribute surveys and questionnaires used as data reference for Training Needs Assessment. What You'll Need for Success: Credentials: + a Bachelor's Degree and 1+ year of experience, or + an Associate's Degree and 3+ years of experience, or + at least 5+ years of experience applying the below, outlined knowledge, skills, and abilities in a similar role. + Able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Related certifications and coursework may be considered for education or experience. Additional qualifications: + Specialized knowledge of adult training and educational theories, methods, principles, practices, techniques, and assessment tools. + Specialized knowledge of theories, principles, practices, laws, rules, and regulations. + Ability to conduct research and remain abreast of new developments in training. + Ability to travel within the state. + Excellent communication skills – both oral and written. + Ability to abide by the Departments Standards of Conduct.
