Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
**The purpose of this position is:** Develop, implement and ensure high level consistent training in the manufacturing of products. This individual will work primarily M-F - Shift: 7:00AM-3:00PM but change of shift might be requested. Location: Keller Texas
**This position includes significant duties such as to:**
+ Responsible for certification and recertification of Operations Associates within their process area
+ Ensures training of various processes is deployed in a timely and efficient manner
+ Assist in maintaining accurate and effective training documents, OJT procedures, certification database records and checklists
+ Support or implement process improvements as directed or approved by Supervisor
+ Works with other trainers to ensure consistent delivery of training
+ Conducts process and procedure audits
+ Assists with onboarding by providing guidance to new associate
+ Assists with creating and writing user documentation as needed
+ Execute training, retraining, and audits within process area
+ Certify and recertify trainees to be fully qualified operators using methodology that includes MPI knowledge, visual inspection of work, tests and checklists
+ Be an advocate of the 5S, iKAIZEN and Safety initiatives. Encourage trainees and Operations Associates to participate in these programs.
+ Assist in department project work as needed
+ Work as Operations Associate when not performing training related responsibilities as necessary and required
**Working Conditions:**
+ No color vision or depth perception problems.
+ May be responsible for directing work of 5-25+ employees
**Education/Experience:**
+ High School Diploma or GED equivalent
+ 3+ years of manufacturing experience
+ 3+ leadership and/or training experience
+ Experience with PC's and associated software (AS400, MS Office)
+ Specific knowledge of standard concepts, practices and procedures related to production processes in assigned area of responsibility
+ Experience with fiber optic is a plus
+ Fluent in spoken and written English

The range for this position is $25.00 hourly rate - $29.00 hourly rate. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
