Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range.
Variable pay may provide additional opportunities for financial awards. This job is eligible to participate in IP’s short –term incentive plan.

The Prattville Mill Traffic Specialist will manage the paper machine scheduling – furnish the paper machines with proper run cycles/trims/orders/schedules. Additionally, they are responsible for coordinating any necessary grade run schedules with the paper mill and Memphis Supply Planning Group. They will coordinate trials with mill CTS, machine managers and supply planning and are responsible for yearly review and updating of mill fact sheets.
The Job You Will Perform:
Responsible for Customer Service:
Review shipment plans and report issues to CTE. Communicate with CTE on any trims not planned and handle inventory with shipment plans. Work with AE/RP to resolve customer issues. Handle stranded inventory, quality hold, IWOS and No STO. Handle the transfer and shipment of non-conforming product. Work closely with the Shipping warehouse to maintain a safe inventory level. Implement strategies to minimize sales trim.
Transportation Functions:
Maximize mode shift opportunities Handle diversion/transfer of product – physical returns and virtual returns after PGI. Responsible for Paper Machine roll shipment. Must attend DOT Hazardous Material Training every two years. Assist with ordering of box cars, controlling demurrage and detention cost. Minimize demurrage/detention/primary routing fees. Position requires person to be on weekend duty rotation.
Manufacturing Excellence:
Candidate will lead or participate in deliberate improvement activities. Yellow Belt or above preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to learn multiple systems.
The Skills You Will Bring:
This position requires a B.S. Degree in Supply Chain or Logistics or equivalent experience. The candidate should have demonstrated leadership skills, technical knowledge in operations and strong interpersonal skills.
