Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Traffic Operations Specialist to join our dynamic team in the manufacturing industry. This role is integral to ensuring smooth and efficient shipment processes both domestically and internationally. As a part of our expanding Traffic Department, you will play a crucial role in supporting the organization’s continued growth.
ResponsibilitiesExamine and create manifests, invoices, orders, or bills of lading to verify the accuracy of all outgoing domestic and international shipments.Document the physical state of units prior to loading on transportation carriers for specialized equipment shipments.Schedule all outgoing truck and UPS/FedEx pickup/delivery schedules.Prepare UPS/FedEx orders for shipment, including all associated paperwork, record-keeping, and labeling.Maintain a shipping log for easy information retrieval.Initiate contact with trucking companies to research favorable freight rates, resolve discrepancies, and ensure quality service and timely deliveries.Execute export duties for international and domestic shipments.Monitor timing of customer requirements, update the tracking database, and process ticket requests.Interact with manufacturing cross-functional groups regarding the preparation and status of finished goods required for customer shipments.Create all required documentation for shipment in compliance with applicable federal and state laws for shipping.Perform other duties as needed for the effective operation of the department.Essential SkillsAdministrative skillsData entry proficiencyExport and import administrationExperience with Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPointERP system knowledgeHigh school diplomaIATA and CFR49 CertificationIMDG CertificationAdditional Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree or 4+ years of directly related experience preferredExperience using an electronic inventory management system is a plusExperience shipping a technically complex product to customers both nationally and internationallyPreferred experience in a customs setting or freight forwardingAbility to interact respectfully and effectively with managers, customers, and vendors at all levelsExperience working with transportation carriers/dispatchersWork Environment
This is a fully on-site position, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM or 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM or 5:00 PM. The role is within a family-owned and operated business in the manufacturing industry, providing a supportive environment for professional growth.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $29.00/hr.
