Due to significant business growth, IBKR is looking to hire a Trade Surveillance Analyst in Budapest. The Analyst will review trading activity of the firm’s clients to identify potential breaches of market abuse rules or market-related financial crime. IBKR has established a proprietary surveillance capability, leveraging its historical proprietary trading background. The IBKR surveillance roles, therefore, offer interesting work and challenges, as well as opportunities for deep dive investigations versus the mass false positive alert processing roles offered in many financial institutions.

Responsibilities Conducting trade surveillance monitoring of client activity on EEA markets, for potential insider dealing or market manipulation Ensuring appropriate and timely alert management, following standards for closure or escalation Documenting surveillance reviews, investigations, and other activities following guidelines Assisting with the ongoing design, development and calibration of alert reports and systems to help identify potential suspicious behaviour Preparing STORs for submission to FCA or CBI Assisting with written responses to inquiries from the FCA, CBI, other European regulators or trading venues regarding IBKR client activity Liaising with global colleagues to ensure all impacted IBKR entities are informed of suspicious activity Qualifications, Skills & Attributes Minimum qualifications: 1-2 years’ experience in trade surveillance or other trade-related role preferred, or alternatively with prior quantitative knowledge of financial markets Strong product knowledge of equity or exchange-traded derivative markets, or, preferably, both Solid academic background Solid knowledge of the different types of market abuse Good oral and written communication skills Ability to work in a small team and a fast-paced environment, and to work independently and multitask with minimal supervision Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail Strong judgment and decision-making skills Company Benefits & Perks Discretionary annual bonus (cash and stock) Private healthcare insurance Free recreational pass (AYCM XL package) Daily food allowance in the office Monthly BKK pass Hybrid way of working (2 days home office/week) Modern office in the heart of Budapest with free amenities Great atmosphere with friendly and exceptional colleagues, frequent company outings.*The benefits package will be reviewed regularly and may be subject to change.
