Trade Finance Analyst

SUMMARY
The Analyst will provide support for the Execution and Delivery Team as well as the other teams within Trade Finance, namely Product Management and Origination . This support will include performing research and analysis, preparing and submitting applications, presentations and indicative proposals for Product Management. The Analyst will be asked to prepare income reports, update pipeline reports and support the Origination teams business promotion efforts. The Analyst will be asked to work with the Execution and Delivery team in managing the processes and procedures in setting up and executing Supply Chain Finance (SCF) deals in the PrimeRevenue systems platform, SCF off-platform transactions, and Invoice Discount Finance (“IDF”) programs with third party banks. In addition, the Analyst is expected to become familiar with the nuances of documentary and standby letters of credit as well as the Borrowing Base facilities.
Among other things, the role requires working closely with product managers and becoming familiar with our suite of Working Capital Solutions products. The Analyst will have regular interactions with both internal and external clients of Global Transaction Banking (GTBDA).
The Analyst will perform other administrative tasks requested to support the Product Management, Origination and Solutions and Execution and Delivery teams as necessary.
This position also requires the preparation of various New York, Global and Head Office reports for GTBDA and providing GTBD Tokyo with information they require to monitor the global commodity traders and other accounts which GTBDA manages. In addition, the position also entails processing KYC requirements for new and existing clients, and doing any other administrative tasks requested to assist the Global Trade Finance (GTF) team, including processing and monitoring of Mizuho Trade Line (MTL) portfolio activity.
RESPONSIBILITIES
+ Verify the exposure and collateral position for borrowing base and other facilities.
+ Update the market prices of commodities on a daily basis and monitor the resulting consequences to our collateral coverage.
+ Circulate, update and distribute various New York and Head Office reports for GTB NY.
+ Monitor outstandings under borrowing base reports and reconcile L/C activity with agent bank reports on a daily basis.
+ Monitor outstandings under borrowing base reports and reconcile Loan activity with agent bank reports on a daily basis.
+ Update borrowing base report information in client activity reports and notify head of Execution & Delivery of any abnormalities.
+ Keep up to date files and records of daily L/C and loan activity with the clients.
+ Obtain reservations with Tokyo, update reports, review L/Cs, process any necessary amendment, and prepare silent confirmation agreements as required to support activity under Mizuho Trade Lines.
+ Support Product Management in driving and maintaining the GTBDA strategic business plan; support the Business Promotion efforts of Origination and Solutions; support the Execution and Delivery efforts to minimize/eliminate operational risks within the trade finance business.
+ Establish and maintain a high-level internal and client business relationships.
+ Preparing customized marketing materials including, among other things, all appropriate analytics (DSO/DPO/CCC/FCF/peer and analysis); assist in the preparation of transaction specific RFP Proposals.
+ Leverage internal stakeholder teams and product partners to drive business results.
+ Develop familiarity with all trade finance products offered by GTBDA and when necessary, review all transactional documentation
+ Work within agreed budget and strive to deliver cost effective solutions.
+ Develop relationships with Mizuho product partners. Leverage internal Business Promotion teams for support and access to their client base.
+ Assist with other GTB-Americas opportunities including IDF’s and Insurance
REQUIREMENTS
+ Basic understanding of banking facilities, loans and letters of credit is important.
+ Word, Excel, AI and the ability to learn bank systems or experience using bank systems for reading purposes. Understanding of UCP 600 and ISP 98 will be an advantage.
+ Strong organizational skills with the ability to support the coordination and implementation Business Plans.
+ Effective communication and interpersonal skills; a strong team player; ability work seamlessly in a multi-cultural environment.
+ The ability to build consensus; proven negotiations skills with the ability to influence and persuade internal and external senior management level contacts.

+ Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or a related field.
The expected base salary ranges from $85,000 - $90,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, including Medical, Dental and 401K plans, successful candidates are also eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
