Trade Compliance Specialist
Job Title: Trade Compliance Specialist Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Trade Compliance Specialist to join our team, supporting both our Import and Export departments. This role will involve working closely with existing team members to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies. Responsibilities + Conduct post-entry compliance audits in accordance with internal procedures. + Retrieve import documentation from third-party billing providers. + Support the Duty Drawback and Reconciliation programs as needed. + Identify and assess potential areas of import compliance risk, collaborating with management to investigate and mitigate issues. + File import documents in compliance with U.S. Customs regulations and internal policies, maintaining accurate and complete records. + Serve as the primary contact for billing issues with external freight forwarders. + Follow up on necessary post-entry corrections. + Assist trade compliance associates with daily operational tasks. + Help maintain the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) database. + Identify and assess potential areas of export compliance risk, collaborating with management to investigate and mitigate issues. + Assist with restricted party screening for end users and new customers. + Collect and file export documentation from all U.S. offices in compliance with U.S. regulations and internal procedures. + Act as the main contact for billing issues with external freight forwarders. + Assist with Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) classification as needed. Essential Skills + 1+ year of working experience with Microsoft Office, specifically high proficiency in Excel for creating spreadsheets and sorting/filtering data. + 1+ years of professional work experience in Business, Logistics, Manufacturing, or Distribution industry with strict internal processes. + Bachelor's Degree. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Logistics or Transportation experience is a plus. + Experience in Import or Export trade is advantageous. + Familiarity with logistics, data entry, import and export compliance, and billing management. Work Environment The position offers a hybrid work environment, requiring three days in the office from Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The role is designed for individuals seeking a dynamic and supportive workplace, where attention to detail and compliance is paramount. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Greenwood, Indiana. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
