Trade Compliance Specialist

Position Purpose and Objective:

Join the Global Trade Compliance team as we deploy a comprehensive trade compliance program that adapts to a changing regulatory environment and business requirements. We provide our business partners with a proactive, seamless, flexible global trade capability to support profitable growth. This role will focus on adherence to our Global Import & Export policies, including the execution of audits and testing of internal controls in Vietnam.

Essential Functions:

Perform trade sanctions/ restricted party screening of entities via the use of third-party screening tool.Conduct export compliance audits on weekly & monthly basis as directed by GTC team.Evaluate internal controls to ensure that stakeholders are complying with restricted party screening program & other trade sanctions.Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations that impact trade compliance activities through trade publications, communications with service providers and regular reviews of the appropriate government websites and trade association memberships for Vietnam.Support the Customs Broker oversight program for local Customs Brokers in Vietnam (including activities such as onboarding/offboarding, performance metrics, SOPs, etc.)Resolve customs clearance/documentation issues for import/export shipments, as necessary.Support implementation and audit of C-TPAT/AEO Supply Chain Security Programs for SBD’s Asia Supply Base – with specific focus on Vietnam.Collaborate with internal departments, such as logistics, procurement, supply chain, and legal, to ensure seamless compliance processes.Support Global Trade Compliance team in all other initiatives to achieve Corporate and departmental goals and objectives.

Qualifications:

College degree in International Trade, Business or Computer ScienceLanguage: TOEIC 700 or another certificate of English test.Experience with Vietnam customs regulations is required. Certificate of customs broker is preferred.Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Must have strong knowledge of and understanding of international business or related field. Strong knowledge of Excel & Word.Initiative-taking and possess ability to manage multiple tasks.Must be able to work independently and have good organizational and follow up skills.Must be a team player and Goal Oriented.Must be able to respond to changing environment.
