As Expert Trade Compliance | Chinese Export Control Law, you are responsible for the integrity and appropriateness of BASF's Internal Compliance Program (ICP) in regards to China’s comprehensive foreign trade regulations. You drive its continuous further development and execution in line with the dynamic geopolitical environment and the company’s business strategy.

• You will ensure that all BASF Group companies comply with the legal trade restrictions in scope by making these requirements tangible in the relevant goods exchange processes.
• To this end, you will develop dedicated concepts and processes together with neighboring control units and in interdisciplinary working groups. You will monitor their introduction and correct application in our operational trade compliance teams worldwide.
• You will also be responsible for the classification of goods (eg technical materials, chemicals, services, software) and the evaluation of business transactions in accordance with national and international requirements.
• You will advise stakeholders in R&D, supply chain, purchasing, sales and customs to establish effective processes for import and export procedures, and you will ensure comprehensive and audit-proof documentation of all trade control-related processes, information and test results.
• You will provide technical leadership to a global community, manage incidents and represent BASF in internal and external committees.

Job Requirements:
• Graduate in a natural sciences program (chemistry, biology, or similar) with business law, compliance or safety background preferred. A fully qualified lawyer would be a great advantage.
• 5 to 10 years of relevant professional and project experience in the field of foreign trade or compliance, preferably in a chemical company
• Analytical and conceptual strength – able to read and interpret regulation and conceptualize them into requirements; clear and concise communication; high critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Team player with a cooperative working style; entrepreneurial drive to take ownership until resolution
• Business fluent in written and spoken English and Mandarin
