Track Coach and K-8 Physical Education Teacher

Combined with a structured dress code, these components support a focused learning environment and uphold our mission of delivering a world-class education to every student.   Position Overview: Physical Education Teacher & Track Coach Mystic Valley is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Physical Education Teacher and Track Coach to support the physical development and well-being of students across multiple grade levels. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering engaging, structured instruction and contributing positively to the school community through collaboration, assessment, and active participation in school events. Key Responsibilities: + Maintain a structured, safe, and engaging physical education environment + Implement designated physical education curricula (e.g., Direct Instruction, Core Knowledge) with fidelity + Track and document student progress on a daily and weekly basis + Deliver lessons according to the established Core Knowledge scope and sequence + Participate fully in all professional development sessions and ongoing training + Attend and contribute to weekly grade-level and team meetings, as well as Teacher Assistance Team (TAT) and staff meetings + Support special education needs by attending IEP meetings and collaborating with support staff as necessary + Conduct weekly peer practice sessions (as designated) + Communicate any curriculum or student-related concerns to the Lead Teacher + Prepare and distribute four progress reports and four report cards annually for students in both homeroom and specialty classes + Conduct four parent-teacher conferences per year (two in fall, two in spring) + Actively participate in key school events such as Back to School Night, Open Houses, Holiday Performances, and the High School Senior Luncheon + Support school operations by fulfilling assigned duties, including morning arrival, lunch/recess supervision, and afternoon dismissal + Consistently enforce school policies and procedures + Perform additional duties as assigned by school leadership, including the Lead Teacher, School Director, Assistant Director, Business Manager, or Professional Development Coordinator Qualifications: + Prior experience teaching physical education or leading structured youth activities required + Coaching experience is highly preferred + Strong classroom management, organization, and communication skills + Commitment to student growth and a team-oriented work environment + Must successfully complete applicable Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure (MTEL) within one year of employment Powered by JazzHR
