Program supervisor is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the program model in the assigned schools. This includes supervising case management staff and Clinicians, coordinating client care, implementing skill-building psycho-educational curriculum, and providing strength-based support to families and middle school age youth who have been identified as at risk to engage in use of substances. The program supervisor provides and oversees skill-based intervention to youth in the school, community, and/or home setting. 

I. Major Responsibilities:  

1. Represent the program both within and outside the organization. 

2. Monitor staff documentation in client records. 

3. Manage the program’s case assignment, flow and system for review of cases. 

4. Assist the Senior Director in the recruitment of staff and management of the program budget. 

5. Monitor staffs’ clinical and case management documentation. 

6. Develop, implement, and review an Individual Service Plan (ISP) to meet the identified needs of each youth to effectively and appropriately coordinate service delivery. 

7. Maintain client records (including completing Intervention plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries). 

8. Communicate with collaterals for the purpose of treatment planning. Participate in case consultation meetings. 

9. Conduct psycho-educational groups and events with youth and family members. 

10. Assess basic physical, social, educational, legal, and service needs of client and coordinate care with other inter-agency and community-based providers. 

11. Attends staff supervision, meetings, and trainings as required. 

12. Follow CEIL protocols. 

13. Some evenings and weekends may be required. 

Standard Management Level Responsibilities:   

1. Directs and supervises assigned personnel including performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation, and training.  Makes recommendations on employee hires, transfers, promotions, salary changes, discipline, terminations, and similar actions.  Resolves grievances and other personnel problems within position responsibilities. 

2. Develops and recommends the budgets for the areas managed. Manages activities to assure financial goals are met. 

3. Coordinates the assignment of tasks and helps resolve technical and operational problems. Evaluates the impact of solutions to ensure goals are achieved. 

4. Provides effective direction, guidance, and leadership over the staff for effective teamwork and motivation and fosters the effective integration of efforts with system-wide initiatives. 

5. Encourages and supports diverse views and approaches, demonstrates Standards of Respect, and contributes to creating and maintaining an environment of professionalism, respect, tolerance, civility and acceptance toward all employees, patients, and visitors. 

6. Integrates diversity into departmental objectives, such as hiring, promotions, training, vendor selections, etc. 

7. Participates in performance improvement initiatives and demonstrates the use of quality improvement in daily operations. 

8. Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies such as Joint Commission, DPH (Department of Public Health), etc. Develops and maintains procedures necessary to meet regulatory requirements. 

9. Ensures that department complies with hospital established policies, quality assurance programs, safety, and infection control policies and procedures. 

10. Ensures adequate equipment and supplies for department. 

11. Develops and maintains established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives. 

12. Ensures compliance to all health and safety regulations and requirements. 

13. Maintains, regular, reliable, and predictable attendance. 

14. Implement services in the school, community, and/or home of the client. 

All responsibilities are essential job functions. 

II. Position Qualifications: 

License/Certification/Education: 

Required: 

1. Current valid US-issued driver’s license and ability to provide registered, inspected and insured automobile for work-related purposes including transporting clients in a personal vehicle. 

2. Satisfactory CORI background check. 

Preferred: 

1. Master’s level clinician, independently licensed, (LICSW, LMHC or Licensed Psychologist) or license eligible. 

Experience/Skills: 

Required: 

1. Familiar with “Best Practices” treatment modalities. 

2. Clinical experience with children and/or families. 

3. Demonstrated leadership skill and team building. 

4. Strong writing skills. 

5. Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational skills and sound clinical judgement required. 

6. Ability to use computer-based information system and electronic medical record. 

Preferred: 

1. Bilingual/Bi-cultural Spanish speaking a plus. 

Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements. 

Department-specific competencies and their measurements will be developed and maintained in the individual departments.  The competencies will be maintained and attached to the departmental job description.  Responsible managers will review competencies with position incumbents. 

 

III. Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions: 

Work is considered light. May require lifting up to 10 lbs occasionally. Position requires work indoors in a normal office environment as well as a patient-facing environment.
