In this role, you will:
Perform a vital part of the patient care process by making sure laboratory specimens are properly processed, prepared, routed, and storedProvides toxicology services information to clients in a timely mannerSets up and maintains new accounts, including up-to-date annual client contracts.Responds to questions or concerns from clients regarding drug testingWorks with other labs to set up DOT client accountsProvides on-site or in-house urine drug collections or breath-alcohol testing for clients.Trains other appropriate employees to become certified drug screen collectors and breath alcohol technicians in accordance with federal regulations, ensuring their continuous certificationPerforms competency checks for BAT and drug collection personnelPrepares collection supplies inventories for other collectors as neededSchedules personnel for after-hour drug screen collections and BAT requestsAssists with revising the Toxicology Standard Operating ProceduresMay assist the billing department in troubleshooting billing problemsReviews outpatient reports and handles problems/issues with island client in absence of the PSC supervisorMay act as backup receptionist or lab assistant during periods of staffing shortagesAdheres to confidentiality, safety, compliance and legal requirementsMaintains consistent and reliable attendance and complies with company guidelines on attendanceAll you need is:
High School diploma requiredMinimum one-year phlebotomy experience in a healthcare settingMinimum one-year experience with CLH/PPPI laboratory information systems.Knowledge of medical/laboratory terminologyProficient computer skills including Word and ExcelCurrent and valid certifications for DOT drug screen and breath alcohol testing protocol and regulationsKnowledge of billing systems and procedures desiredFor hospital settings, additional requirements may apply and change without notice, including, but not limited to, criminal background check, health clearance and hospital compliance trainingBonus points if you’ve got:
