What this job involves
This is an exciting opportunity to progress your career and join our growing Scottish team based in our Edinburgh office.

JLL is a leading global real estate company with over 40 town planning specialists in five locations across the UK. We act for a number of high profile clients including some of the UK’s major land owners, developers and occupiers, and work across various sectors including:

Industrial and logisticsResidential (including Build to Rent, student accommodation and later living)Development and regeneration (including retail, city centre development, the public sector)Education and healthcareAlternative development

What your day-to-day will look like

Supporting senior colleagues to progress projects from inception to completionCarrying out baseline research to support site appraisals and contribute to the feasibility and development potential of sitesMaking enquiries to local planning authorities and other sources, using excellent verbal communication skillsPreparing planning appraisals to establish the development potential of sitesUndertaking independent planning policy and planning history researchUndertaking site visits and attending client meetingsProvide data support, analysis and orderly presentation of researchPreparing and submitting pre-application enquiriesPreparing and submitting minor planning applications including the drafting of Planning StatementsEngaging with a wide range of stakeholders involved in the planning process

Desired or preferred experience and technical skills:

A recently qualified chartered town planner, or due to qualify soonMember, or working towards, membership or Licentiate of the Royal Town Planning InstituteDemonstrate relevant experience working as a Town PlannerA good understanding and knowledge of the town planning systemExcellent analytical and writing skillsStrong planning and organisational skillsTime and workload management skillsStrong motivation to learnThe ability to work as part of a team
