What is the Opportunity?

Aecon’s Corporate teams provide a wide range of critical support services to Aecon’s varied Sector and Project teams.

The Total Rewards Specialist will be responsible for supporting the execution and monitoring of total rewards programs and initiatives. Reporting to Manager, Total Rewards, the incumbent will also assist in developing, implementing, improving and supporting programs, processes and tools to help achieve department’s strategic objectives.

 

What You'll Do Here:

Support in designing, building and communicating enterprise-wide compensation policies, programs and processes. Support broad-based Pay analysis, Salary structure development, Incentive plan design, Compensation surveys, Market pricing, Job documentation, Job analysis, Job evaluation and Pay equity analysis. Support roll-out of annual compensation processes programs including the annual salary review, short term incentive plan (STIP), and others as required. Assist in administration of long-term incentive plan (LTIP). Support to plan and manage delivery of Total compensation summary project annually. Responsible for administration of Total Rewards documentation (guides, FAQs, forms, etc.) ensuring it is relevant, current and easily accessible. Review, analyze and recommend changes to compensation programs to ensure external competitiveness and comply with regulations or legislation. Develops, monitors, updates and communicates project schedules of track tasks, deadlines and milestones. Conduct research, analysis, and program design that includes management of vendor relations. Maintain a thorough understanding of internal and external pension and benefits design, practices and policies. Advise and support the business on benefit, pension and savings requirements and best practices. Work with internal contacts and service providers to resolve claims, coverage and service issues and find solutions/provide recommendations for sensitive and one-off situations. Provide on-going benefits administration support. Support and manage annual benefits enrolment project activities including communications. Ensure organizational compliance with all relevant benefit, pension and savings plan legislation. Supports pension and benefits year end process such as annual pension audit and preparation of financial statements, etc. Prepares pension and benefits reports for service providers for eligibility and renewal purposes. Preparation of presentations and special reports as required. Special project assistance as required.

 

What You Bring to the Team:

A minimum of 3-6 years of related work experience and a college or university degree. Prior experience in compensation, labor market surveys, HR practices and compensation cycle management. Working knowledge of job evaluation and job analysis systems. Adequate knowledge of current labor regulations and legislation. Familiarity with various types of incentives and benefits. Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) Designation or working towards completion. Strong technical skills including advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products; SharePoint, Excel, etc. Experience working with SAP, SAP Business Objects and Success Factors compensation management is an asset. Strong understanding of benefits and pension legislation and compliance/filing requirements is an asset. Ability to successfully navigate a fast-paced, complex and changing work environment, while managing multiple and shifting priorities. Problem-solving ability and critical thinking skills. Strong ability to collaborate with internal clients and external vendors to achieve the best results and deliver the most value. Act with discretion and confidentiality. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
