TOPS Facilitator Part-Time Regular 25 to 29.90 Hours Job Description Job Summary: Basic purpose or primary function of the job.. The TOPS Facilitator supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in achieving greater independence, building life skills, and participating fully in the community. This role combines on-site and community-based activities, fostering personal growth, inclusion, and meaningful engagement. Facilitators help participants meet goals outlined in their Individualized Service Plans (ISPs) and provide assistance with activities of daily living—including hygiene—when needed to promote dignity and well-being. Driving is not required, but the ability to drive participants to and from the program or on outings is strongly preferred. Job Responsibilities: Principal responsibilities or job duties. Add paragraphs by clicking “enter” as necessary. + Provide individualized and group support to engage participants in community and site-based activities. + Lead and facilitate skill-building, enrichment, and recreational activities such as art, cooking, exercise, games, and group discussions. + Promote social skills, positive peer relationships, and conflict resolution. + Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs), including hygiene, as needed. + Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment. + Implement program goals and action plans in accordance with agency and state guidelines. + Complete accurate and timely documentation, including daily logs and progress reports. + Communicate effectively with participants, families, team members, and supervisors. + Attend required trainings, meetings, and professional development sessions. + Represent JFCS with professionalism and a strengths-based, person-centered approach in all settings. + If able to drive: transport participants in a program or personal vehicle, following all safety and agency protocols. + Perform other duties related to the position as assigned by the supervisor to meet program and participant needs. Required Education & Experience: + High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or degree in psychology, education, social work, or related field preferred. + At least one year of experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities; day program or community-based experience preferred. + Compassionate, dependable, and patient, with the ability to remain calm in challenging situations. + Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. + Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. + Computer proficiency for documentation and communication. + Must pass all required background checks and complete agency/state-mandated trainings. + Valid driver’s license, registration, and insurance preferred; clean driving record strongly preferred if driving. Physical & Environmental Requirements + Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 20 lbs. + Participation in indoor and outdoor activities, sometimes in varied weather conditions. + Ability to assist individuals with mobility challenges, including wheelchair transfers (training provided).
