Modernizing Medicine is seeking a talented Tools and Process Technical Leader, as we continue to grow and enhance our product development capabilities to steer our Tools and Processes Department, with a specialized focus on JIRA Cloud Administration.

Job Summary

This Tools & Process Lead will oversee the strategic management, administration, and optimization of JIRA and related development tools. This pivotal role entails leading the department to improve productivity & efficiency, streamline workflows, and ensure the development teams are equipped with state-of-the-art tools and processes aligned with organizational goals.

Your Role

JIRA, Tools Administration & Maintenance:

Lead the design, implementation, and management of JIRA configurations, including workflows, permissions, schemes, fields, and boards. Customize JIRA to fit business needs by developing plugins and integrations that enhance capability and efficiency. Provide expert-level support and training for JIRA users to ensure effective tool use throughout the organization. Monitor, support, troubleshoot, and improve JIRA system performance, ensuring optimal functionality. Extensive administration experience in JIRA, Confluence and other integrating development tools.

Process Optimization & Documentation:

Conduct thorough assessments of current workflows to identify areas for improvement and efficiency gains. Establish, implement and document standard operating procedures and best practice guidelines for tool use across the organization. Stay informed about technological advancements and industry best practices, applying this knowledge to enhance departmental processes. Ensure tools are used in compliance with organizational security policies and standards. Manage user access and permissions, maintaining the integrity and security of data within tools.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

Work closely with Product Development, and other cross-functional teams to ensure tools and processes meet their needs and enhance their workflows. Facilitate workshops, training and feedback sessions to gather input and ensure stakeholder alignment on tool usage to drive improvements.

Department Leadership:

Oversee the Tools and Processes Department, guiding team members in the effective management of multiple development tools. Develop and implement a strategic vision for tool use and process optimization that aligns with departmental and organizational goals. Collaborate with stakeholders to assess tool and process needs, driving innovation and efficiency in support of product development objectives.

 

Skills & Experience Requirements:

Extensive experience in JIRA Administration, including custom configuration, integration, reporting metrics and dashboards that illustrate the flow of value. Atlassian (administration) certification is highly desired. Proven leadership experience in managing tools and processes within a Product Development organization with ability to lead cross-functional initiatives. Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies,  experience in Continuous Delivery, Release, CI/CD Pipeline. Experience working with tools such as Power BI, JIRA Align, Jenkins, Test Rails, etc. Experience working with all levels of staff, management, stakeholders, vendors. Advanced skill building effective relationships through rapport, trust, diplomacy, and tact. Advanced, problem solving, collaboration, critical thinking, and excellent verbal and written communication skills including presentation skills to a big audience to influence, negotiate and persuade to drive positive outcomes. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of initiative and sense of priority and urgency to work collaboratively and influence others. Hybrid office environment. 

Education

Bachelor's degree preferably Computer Science, Information System or related fields.
