Responsible for designing, fabricating, and repairing soft and hard tooling including jigs, fixtures, dies, and specialized tools using various materials and machine tools.

Job Requirements:

Completion of a Toolmaker apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience

Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, design schematics, and CAD drawings

In-depth knowledge of machine tools including drills, lathes, grinders, and milling machines

Ability to set up and operate CNC machining centers

Strong understanding of metalworking tolerances, shaping, and finishes

Ability to visualize and compute precise dimensions and tolerances

Advanced troubleshooting abilities related to tooling fabrication and repair

Preferred Skills:

Experience working with a variety of materials including metals, fiberglass, and thermal plastics

Familiarity with jig and fixture design for manufacturing processes

Experience with cutting, grinding, filing, shimming, and fitting metal components

Strong inspection skills for identifying tool and die defects and contour deformities

Job Responsibilities:

Design and build jigs, templates, dies, and fixtures to support manufacturing operations

Measure, mark, cut, and shape metal stock to required dimensions

Operate manual and CNC machine tools for fabrication and maintenance of tooling

Assemble and fit tool and die components to meet exact specifications

Inspect and test completed tools to ensure quality, performance, and dimensional accuracy

Maintain and repair existing dies and tools as required by production needs

Pay Details: $28.00 to $30.00 per hour
