Responsibilities

1. Maintain mold heat controllers/stat cords, thermolators, and logic seals.

2. Assist in installation and programming of heat controllers/stat cords, thermolators, logic seals, and carrier systems when necessary.

3. Provide insight in advanced rigging situations.

4. Help scheduling and leadership determine mold/machine matches and capabilities.

5. Assist in improving equipment and mold installation practices.

6. Help maintain injection hot runners.

7. Assist in mold heat controller and hot runner training.

8. Help leadership in areas of improvement and training.

9. Take on projects for the betterment of the department including but not limited to new tool installations and improvement projects.

10. Help in any areas necessary for the success of the department.

 

Authorities:

Assist leadership in training of new EEs.

Work with Scheduling to coordinate mold machines matches.

Qualifications

1. High School diploma / GED equivalent.

2. Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.

3. Visual acuity of at least 20/50 for distance (corrected or uncorrected) and a minimal near vision ability to read 10 – 12 point font at a distance of 12 – 18 inches.

4. Ability to work at heights (with or without fall protection). Must not be at risk of sudden alterations in consciousness.

5. Able to climb ladders safely and without assistance for a minimum of 12 times per task. Must not be at risk of sudden alterations in consciousness.

6. Verbal communication adequate to use a radio and or paging system to contact other co-workers in other areas of the complex.

7. Able to use both hands for effective manipulation of tools/parts.

8. Able to work overhead or in awkward positions on a frequent basis.

9. Ability to push/pull loads of approx 60 lbs at a minimum of 6 times per task.

10. Able to stand/walk for 7 hours of an 8-hour shift.

11. Ability to climb on and off a fork lift safely and without assistance a minimum of 16 times an hour.

12. Advanced experience with injection molds, mold heat controllers, logic seals, and thermolators. (programing, maintenance, etc).

13. Ability to train other EEs on mold equipment and best installation/rigging practices.

14. Extensive Electrical and mechanical knowledge and abilities.

15. Advanced understanding of best rigging practices and capabilities.

16. Ability to hold fork truck and CEW certifications.

Additional Info

PURPOSE: To oversee maintenance and programing of mold heat controllers, logic, seals, thermolators, etc. To provide guidance in advanced rigging situations and improve mold installation procedures.
