All candidates will have previously used a tool management software along with ability to edit or create 2D drawings via SolidCAM to support jigs, fixtures and tooling.
Indysoft and SolidCAM software would be preferred, but training can be provided.

About the job
As a Tooling Engineer, you will take ownership of all managed and consigned stock. You will work with Howmet's Manufacturing Engineers to ensure minimum stock levels are set correctly to support all consumption demands. You will ensure our physical on-hand stock mirrors our digital inventory in our tooling management software. This will be performed by means of spot audits throughout the year, and ensuring all tooling is maintained or renewed when necessary.
You will also support and work closely with our consignment suppliers ensuring stock rotation, special tooling and usages are managed to meet the business needs.
What will you be doing?
The role will be upheld by 5 KPI measurements.
- Fulfilment of on hand stock levels
- Consumption reports split by cell and operators
- Spend by Work Centre
- Cost savings against an agreed target
- Budget control – monthly and annually
We operate a QR Barcode system on all route cards which identify the specific tooling needed for each operation. Your role will be to uphold and maintain the associated tooling. All new NPI (New Product Introduction) tooling will be managed and added into the tool management software by yourself.
