HNC/B-Eng in Engineering

 

We are seeking a skilled Tooling Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining tooling solutions that support our manufacturing operations and meet performance, safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering. 

Essential Functions Use engineering expertise to support manufacturing processes from raw material to end product Hands on approach to solving manufacturing engineering issues on a daily basis Design of new tooling in response to customer requirements and market needs Design of cold forming tooling, thread rolling tooling and jigs / fixtures for existing products Improve reliability of tooling design, ensuring that changes are appropriately documented Continuous review and analysis of the efficiency and reliability of manufacturing processes, including, tooling, heat treatment, coating, plating, lubricants Liaise with tooling suppliers, materials suppliers, machine maintenance, and sub contractors to continually strive for the improvement in reliable consistent production.  Present and confidently discuss new ideas and suggestions for improvement. Liaise with Waco on product development Ensure maintenance of up to date technical standards and drawing databases Compliance with all company policies

Background & Experience

Demonstrated tooling engineering experience Cold Forming knowledge desirable

Calm & methodical approach with a strong eye for detail Excellent problem solving abilities with the ability to think outside the box and develop new approaches Able to prioritise effectively and escalate issues as appropriate Can do approach Competent in using MS Office Strong CAD abilities Excellent communication – both written & verbal   Strong written, report writing skills Able to build strong and effective working relationships at all levels and both externally as well as internally  Confident in delivering presentations of a technical nature Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects  Capable of working under pressure to achieve targets Ability to develop technical knowledge
