Tool Maker C - 2nd Shift

What you will be doing as a Tool Maker:

In this role, you can expect to build and set machining tools to support operations, manage the distribution and storage of essential equipment, and maintain crib inventory. You'll also have the opportunity to collaborate with experienced Tool Makers, enhancing your skills and expertise. Join us and be among the best in the business.

Your responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):

Tool Setup: Use shop routers, tool orders, and oral/written instructions to plan and perform necessary duties needed to mount and set tools, fixtures, and equipment on various machines, while ensuring correct diameters, lengths, and typesEquipment Operation: Utilize tool setting machines like pre-setters, heat shrinkers, and balancers to ensure tools are properly set up, secured, and balanced for useTool Routing: Route complete sets of tools, fixtures, and tapes to appropriate machinesPrecision Measurement: Use simple hand tools and precision instruments such as micrometers and calipers during tool set up and maintenanceInventory Management: Maintain inventory records, keep tools serviceable by sorting and routing them to the tool grinding area for repair and/or sharpening, and manage electronic databasesCalibration Monitoring: Check out/in tools and fixtures, maintain calibration logs, and monitor due dates

What you need to be successful:

A high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or a bronze level WorkKeys certification is requiredA minimum 6 months experience with hand tool, power tool, and measurement tools is requiredAbility to successfully complete the Tool Maker checklist within ninety days of entering the classification is required
