WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Responsible for using metal cutting machines and other specialized equipment to manufacture, modify, maintain, refurbish and repair punches, dies, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, machine parts, prototypes, test equipment, display mounts, and automated equipment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Design, manufacture, modify, and repair production tooling and equipmentTroubleshoot tooling and equipment issuesSuggest tooling and equipment improvementsSupport in the manufacture prototypes and test equipment for product engineeringRepair and maintain tool room equipmentEvaluate tooling and material needs (provide lists for order)Measure and confirm new or modified tooling is built to dimensions and tolerances as outlined on the drawingRotation through various work areas and shiftsSee PDA for comprehensive list of physical and work environment demandsComplies with all company policies and proceduresPerforms other tasks as assigned by managementHEALTH & SAFETY:
Maintain a safe workplaceWear Personal Protective equipment as required on the shop floorComply with the company policies, procedures, and OHSA (Occupational Health & Safety Act)Participation is required in our internal responsibility system (right to know, right to refuse, right to participate)Follow safe work and lockout / tagout procedures as requiredReport unsafe conditions or hazards as soon as possible to your supervisorMaintain a clean working environmentAdhere to and maintain WHMIS 2015 requirementsAnnual medical surveillance may be required5S:
Ensure your work area is maintained at required daily 5S standards (take 5 min at the end of your shift)Support the monthly 5S clean up as requiredQUALIFICATION:
Certified Tool and Die MakerAbility to read blueprintsAbility to use various measuring devicesWorking knowledge and experience with computersAbility to read and follow work instructionsSolid knowledge of tool and fixture designKnowledge of brazing, grinding, turning, drilling, milling, and heat treatingAbility to troubleshootWelding and CNC experience is an assetAbility to work in a collaborative team environmentEDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
