About the Opportunity

Scotiabank is seeking a high-performing Director to join our Corporate Banking team, focused on the Global Mining & Energy sectors in Europe. This strategic role plays a vital part in delivering tailored credit and banking solutions to our clients, with a core mandate to deepen relationships, drive revenue growth, and uphold strong governance standards across a high-value portfolio.

You will work alongside a dynamic and collaborative team within a global platform that enables career progression and exposure to some of the world’s most critical sectors.

 

What You’ll Do
•            Lead and inspire a team to develop deep client relationships and drive a strong culture of customer focus and execution excellence.
•            Deliver high-quality structuring and execution of non-lending and lending credit products aligned with client needs and the Bank’s risk appetite.
•            Execute strategic initiatives and business development across the Mining & Energy sectors, contributing to revenue growth and enhanced client engagement.
•            Collaborate across Global Banking and Markets (GBM) to deliver integrated solutions and build multi-product relationships.
•            Prepare and present credit recommendations, oversee complex deal structuring, and manage portfolio performance.
•            Maintain a strong control and governance culture, ensuring compliance with internal policies, risk frameworks, and regulatory standards.
•            Act as a mentor, promoting knowledge transfer, team development, and a performance-focused culture.
•            Represent the team at senior forums and support business growth through strong market insights and execution discipline.

 

What You’ll Bring
•            Proven experience in corporate banking, with deep sector expertise in Mining and Energy.
•            Strong analytical, structuring, and credit skills with the ability to lead deal teams from origination through to execution.
•            In-depth knowledge of risk management, credit frameworks, and regulatory expectations.
•            Confident communicator with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and represent Scotiabank with impact.
•            Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and adept at prioritising under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
•            Commercial acumen with a focus on identifying opportunities and driving sustainable growth.
•            Experience in coaching and managing high-performing teams.
•            Degree-qualified; CFA, MBA, or equivalent designation an asset.
