The Director, Deposit Solutions & Client Campaigns leads a team responsible for the design and delivery of programs and solutions that will drive Business Banking portfolio growth.  By aligning our market activity to our ambitious growth aspirations, this Director will grow market share from deepening relationships with our existing clients, and attracting new clients to Scotiabank.

 

The Director, Deposit Solutions & Client Campaigns works in close collaboration with the key partners across the Business Banking Team, Canadian Banking, and Global Transaction Banking in order to strategically design programs and solutions that will align to our target client segments.  Examples of how this comes to market for Deposits would include aligning on rates and offers, forecasting the impact on sales / volume growth, promotion through our branch and digital channels, and monitoring downstream impact on the portfolio.  In time, these insights would be used to assess the health of our product shelf, and inform strategies on product pricing or new development/refresh.

 

As a key member of the Leadership Team, the Director, Deposit Solutions & Client Campaigns contributes to the overall success of Business in Canada by ensuring delivery of the business strategies and objectives, and in accordance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will: 

Leads and drives a client focused culture throughout their team to grow and/or deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.

 

Drives portfolio growth across Business Banking products through delivery of programs that offer relevant solutions to our clients.  As part of this process, the incumbent will:

Lead the development and execution of direct marketing campaigns for Business Banking across multiple channels. Own end-to-end campaign performance reporting, leveraging data and insights to assess effectiveness, optimize future campaigns, and inform broader go-to-market strategies. Deliver tools to help with pricing, profitability, scalability, integrating insights into campaign design, with a particular focus on Deposits. Drive design and development of the overall go-to-market strategies for new and existing products, including acquisition and engagement programs. Participate in design and develop of new products suites, while refining existing products, for example leveraging features, pricing, and/or rewards. Maintain reporting rigour for Deposit product portfolio, to understand trends, performance and identify opportunities. Develop and maintain a detailed assessment of the competitive landscape, in terms of competitor product offerings, pricing, benefits, in-market promotional activity. Collaborate cross-functionally with analytics, product, and sales teams to ensure campaigns are aligned with business objectives and customer needs.

 

Builds and leverages partnerships across the Bank to deliver against business objectives and provide excellent client service, including:

Global Business Deposits, Treasury and Finance, to manage Deposit products and P&L. Marketing and Analytics, to deliver client programs across multiple channels. Business Banking Distribution Team, to enable salesforce effectiveness. Business Banking SBH Team, to inform client experience and align with product features. Retail Product Teams, to incorporate best practices and leverage investment synergies.

 

Provides leadership and direction to the team, including providing significant coaching, and career development mentorship.

Builds a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and promotes talent. Motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment; communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team.

 

Protects the bank and our clients with appropriate focus and due diligence.

Direct day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank's risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits.  Communicates the Bank's risk culture and risk appetite statement throughout their teams. Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct. Supports the development and implementation of compliance programs for Business Banking designed to meet regulatory requirements or best practices

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?  We’d love to work with you if you have experience with:

5+ years of management experience, preferably in banking product, campaign management and strategy roles Thorough knowledge of the Canadian financial services marketplace and solid understanding of the Small / Business Banking market, products and services Creative approach to product development and differentiation; ability to monitor wider market/consumer trends and tailor new products accordingly Awareness of key environmental factors in the Small / Business Banking industry, including government and regulatory issues Detailed understanding of Small / Business Banking financials and P&L management Excellent communication and long-term planning skills Solid understanding of business operations and risk issues for Small / Business Banking products Strong business and marketing acumen Proven ability to influence and coordinate sometimes conflicting stakeholders Bachelor’s degree required / MBA or other advanced degree preferred
