Job Description
Perform business process functions necessary for processing salary/hourly payroll timekeeping. The applicant should be comfortable exercising a high level of independent judgment in matters of a difficult and involved nature.
ResponsibilitiesEnsure timely and accurate payrolls are prepared and delivered.Ensure payroll compliance with Federal and State tax regulations.Assist in managing 3rd party contracts.Maintain a cohesive work relationship between multiple 3rd party vendors.Initiate and ensure accurate and timely system implementation of payroll process changes.Network and collaborate with colleagues, third parties, and other departments to achieve desired business results.Stay up-to-date on technical aspects of payroll processes to identify and anticipate impacts on systems and processes.Proactively identify process improvement opportunities and lead change.Extract, verify, analyze, and present data for management decision-making.Provide internal and/or external financial analysis and decision support.Ensure compliance with internal controls requirements.Lead and/or assist with special projects and global initiatives as required.Essential SkillsThorough knowledge of Payroll Timekeeping systems and processes.Knowledge of US payroll taxes and remittance.Ability to work under pressure and balance many projects at one time.Highly developed computer skills, especially Microsoft Excel.Ability to lead small project teams and work independently.Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.Strong interpersonal and team-building skills.Strong understanding of corporate/unit personnel policies and labor agreements.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Business or Accounting required.Prior Payroll/Timekeeping experience required.Strong accounting experienceSAP knowledge preferred.Strong knowledge of Banking/Taxes and Garnishment regulations.Work Environment
This is a contract position based in the US. The role involves data entry, Excel analysis, and typing, with a focus on Kronos systems. The work environment fosters collaboration across departments and third-party vendors.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $32.00/hr.
