We are looking to add a Timekeeper to our team to support and record time for employees. You will prepare timecards for review and final approval by unit management prior to the standardized deadline. You will also collaborate with the unit manager to ensure accurate information is received and coded into Kronos timekeeping system before signing off. A timekeeper typically has a wide range of responsibilities, which can include:

-Payroll administration, including tracking employee hours and pay rates, calculating overtime pay, and submitting payroll information to state agencies

-Calculating timecards based on work orders, including start and end times, breaks, and lunch hours.

-Making sure that timekeeping records are stored securely.

-Monitoring timecards for accuracy and making any necessary adjustments.

-Reporting any timekeeping irregularities to supervisors for further investigation.

-Recording timekeeping data on spreadsheets or other computer software programs.

The ideal candidate is someone who:

-Has significant data entry skills.

-Pay attention to detail.

-Has excellent verbal and written communication.

-Has Multitasking skills

- Has great computer skills.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

Administers timekeeping responsibilities including correcting missed punches and making updates to employee timecards to ensure accurate accounts of productivity status.Corrects employee timecards and interfaces with payroll department to coordinate time changes to ensure timecards are kept up to date in accordance with wage and labor standards.Prepares timecards for manager to approve.Updates time and attendance system with timekeeping and pay codes to ensure time records are accurate.Audits time records to ensure hours are recorded correctly per policy including FTE hours, missed punches, absences, planned time off and FMLA hours.Prepares timecards for review and final approval by unit management prior to standardized deadlines.Maintains timekeeping records and supporting documentation for assigned area.Responds to requests from unit managers and payroll department.Performs other duties as required.

Education:

High School Diploma or GED

Competencies:

Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Work Experience:

One year experience utilizing automated systems.Prior timekeeping skills preferred.Associate Degree in information technology or related field may substitute for work experience.

Physical Requirements:

Requires manual dexterity for constant data entry and ability to sit for long periods of time.Ability to use a telephone without TTY. Articulate speech.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
