Summary

Lincoln Electric has an outstanding opportunity for a Third Shift Supervisor, supporting our Electronics Factory within the Euclid, Ohio manufacturing headquarters. As the Third Shift Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining a safe work environment for staff, and drive manufacturing efficiency.

Job Duties and Responsibilities Develop and maintain a safe work environment. Responsible for ETM duties for all Euclid divisions. Recognize that people are our most valuable resource. Maintain departmental cost control and cost reductions. Foster an atmosphere that promotes continuous improvement of employees and processes, including cross training for flexibility. Support the Machine Division’s manufacturing plan that will meet our customer needs while minimizing overall cost in manufacturing. Movement of personnel within the department based on qualifications and restrictions. Make personnel selections for the various job openings within the department based on qualifications and restrictions. Resolve worker problems or complaints or submit unresolved problems and/or complaints to the appropriate support areas to resolve the issues. Work with Human Resources and Quality Assurance to develop and maintain a trained work force. Understand the concepts of work-in-process, inventory control, lean and just-in-time manufacturing. Support Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Assurance and Research & Development in the design, introduction and maintenance of new products. Ensure that company policies are followed and enforce disciplinary guidelines. Complete employee evaluations and assist with Merit Rating and hourly personnel merit increases. Lead TVM huddles Work on 5S Audits & CI Projects Resolve safety hazards within the department. Immediately address/investigate any safety hazard, any equipment not operating correctly, or if there are any questions regarding EHS procedures. Training Requirements Training for this position depends on the background and experience of the individual. Employee must be an active ETM or successfully become an ETM within one year of hire. The Manager shall ensure that the employee receives “on the job training”, and the following training at the appropriate times. See Lincoln specification RE150 for training requirements. Basic Requirements Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; Technical or Engineering degree preferred  Prior management or supervisory experience and/or some supervisory training required  Employee must be an active ETM or successfully become an ETM within one year of hire. Able to communicate and deal effectively with all levels of the organization  Strong customer focus Uncompromising attitude toward safety, environment, health, and quality  Excellent oral and written communication skills Excellent leadership, organizational, and motivational skills Ability to handle employee and production issues in an efficient and professional manner  Ability to initiate and implement change while gaining acceptance from employees  Basic knowledge of Machine Division products and processes Basic computer skills including proficiency in MS Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, MES, SAP, and Apriso Knowledge of relevant company policies and procedures (anti-harassment, affirmative action, merit rating/PDS, etc.) Competencies Supervisory training or equivalent experience. Leadership/Management training or equivalent experience Additional technical training is desirable. Manufacturing shop experience is desirable. Basic computer skills include proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), SAP, FlexNet, Centra, and Lotus Notes. Must be able to communicate and deal effectively with every level of our organization. Must have excellent people skills, oral and written communication, leadership, organizational and motivational skills. Must be able to interpret and enforce the specifications and procedures related to the department.
