Description:Description: The Therapy Assistant is responsible for assisting in the delivery of therapeutic rehabilitation programs. The Therapy Assistant participates in assessment related activities as well as the planning and development of client programs which includes leading individual or group treatment and educational interventions. Additional Required Qualifications:Certification as a Therapy Assistant or equivalent education required. Minimum 1 year of experience working in a related healthcare setting. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team. Knowledge of therapeutic techniques and resident care practices. Physically able to complete all demanding aspects of patient/resident care and transport, e.g. walking, standing, bending, lifting, assuming awkward positions and standing for long durations of time. Must be able to understand written and verbal directions in English.
Preferred Qualifications:Experience in geriatric mental health preferred. Knowledge of assistive devices and adaptive equipment. Additional certifications in specialized therapy areas (e.g., occupational therapy, physiotherapy). Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems; such as Connect Care. Valid Class 4 Driver’s License preferred.
