Therapeutic Support Services Supervisor Job Details Level Management Job Location Main Campus - Syracuse, NY Position Type Full Time Education Level 4 Year Degree Salary Range $78000.00 - $80000.00 Salary/year Job Shift Day/Evening Description Position Statement:The Therapeutic Support Services (TSS) Supervisor provides direct supervision, coaching, and leadership to the TSS staff across residential programs. This position is responsible for ensuring consistent trauma-informed interventions, quality crisis response, and staff support throughout behavioral and emotional incidents. The TSS Supervisor collaborates with clinical, residential, and administrative teams to promote safety, accountability, and a therapeutic culture for both youth and staff. Responsibilities: + Leads staffing operations including recruitment, onboarding, supervision, and performance evaluation to build and sustain a competent, mission driven work force. Ensures effective staffing for coverage requirements. + Coordinates and supervises Therapeutic Support Services staff ensuring essential teamwork and consistent adherence to all program policies and procedures. + Supports professional growth and development for Therapeutic Support Services staff through regular structured coaching, team meetings, in-service trainings, modeling, supporting organizational awareness, and ensuring thorough communication. + Develops and implements comprehensive Therapeutic Support Services Programs, including supporting program goals and creating policies and procedures. + Oversees the daily operations of Therapeutic Support Services Programs + Leads and promotes effective strategies for program management following models of practice. + Oversee incident management, crisis interventions, and risk assessments while ensuring documentation is appropriate and submitted to oversight agencies in a timely manner. + Leads post-incident debriefings with the TSS team. + Promotes a positive, responsive team culture that model’s empathy, professionalism, and resilience. + Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to develop and maintain youth individualized crisis support plans (ICSPs). + Ensures Therapeutic Support Services Program compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. + Other Duties as Assigned. Required Education and Experience : + Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, psychology, or a related field preferred. + Minimum 4-6 years of experience working with youth in child welfare/juvenile justice, mental health, or crisis settings. + Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience. + Experience with crisis intervention, risk assessments, and incident management. Essential Job Qualifications: + Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. + Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills. + Excellent leadership skills to effectively manage and oversee all aspects of the program, including staff supervision, program development, and youth care. + Ability to build rapport with youth, staff, and all stakeholders. + Ability to make sound professional decisions quickly despite stressful atmosphere. + Ability to provide crisis intervention, including physical restraints. Restraints may include resistive force, bending, squatting, kneeling, lying down, and holding the youth to maintain safety. + Ability to lift 50 pounds without assistance. + Ability to sit, squat, crouch, and stand for elongated periods + Ability to lift arms overhead in a reaching motion + Ability to walk up and down stairs several times per day. + Travel as required based on departmental needs. + Valid Driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to our insurance carrier.
