The position
As the Therapeutic Area Director, Diabetes & Obesity at our Clinical Development Centre (CDC) in Poland, you will be accountable for the trial portfolio in CDC by formulating and implementing therapy area Diabetes & Obesity strategy ensuring alignment with the CDC & Affiliate priorities. Your role involves leading Diabetes and Obesity therapeutic area functional team, achieving important business objectives, and responding quickly to business needs.
Additionally, you will:
Direct the planning and execution of clinical trials to ensure they are conducted efficiently and in good quality Maintain active oversight of trial delivery, proactively identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to enable seamless clinical trial execution. Drive alignment and collaboration among key stakeholders, including CDC, Clinical Medical and Affiliate leadership, and provide operational leadership to deliver portfolio Oversee recruitment, talent management, people development, and performance management within the CDC Diabetes & Obesity functional teams Build effective operating models addressing current and future needs for functional team within CDC organizational structure Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement innovative solutions to enhance trial efficiency Promote knowledge sharing and competency development within the team
Qualifications
To be considered for the position, you need to have proven success in developing strategy through expert understanding of market and industry, and experience in metabolic diseases is preferred. Professional proficiency in English as a must.
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in science or healthcare is required. An advanced degree is preferred Minimum 10 years of clinical trial experience in Pharma/Biotech/CRO industry Minimum 5 years of experience in people management Proven track record of leadership in a large, matrixed organizations Solid knowledge of GCP and its application in design, planning and conduct of clinical trials
About the department
Our Clinical Development Centers, part of the Clinical, Medical and Regulatory Departments, are the backbone in clinical trials and have the benefits of strengthened partnerships and launches. CDC Poland conduct clinical trials in 13 countries in the region in close collaboration with regional and global teams.
