Responsibilities include general stage work (wardrobe, rail, deck, load-in/load-out), electrical, audio-video, follow-spot operation, and other live entertainment support. Technicians will work across departments and on a wide variety of events such as concerts, dance, opera, lectures, convocations, etc. This part-time role varies by project, with technicians serving as specialists or general stagehands for different events. They will collaborate closely with full-time staff at Kingsbury Hall. While expertise in all areas isn’t required, candidates should have experience in at least one specialty. UtahPresents values individuals who can actively contribute to the diversity of viewpoints, cultural background, experiences, and expertise of our staff. **Responsibilities** **Responsibilities:** + Arrive on time and prepared for all assigned shifts. + Relevant skills include theatrical electrical work, audio-video, projection, streaming, + rigging, stagehand work, wardrobe, or similar. + Perform tasks such as hanging soft goods, lighting focus, cable wrapping, and truck unloading/loading. + Follow instructions and acquire specific training as required for each event. Ask questions + and follow through on all assigned tasks. + Demonstrate effective communication and human relations skills and foster a + collaborative team environment. + Adapt to a varied theatre schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. + Maintain confidentiality. + Complete additional duties as assigned. **Physical Requirements:** + Maintain energy and composure during long periods of physical activity. + Operate power tools and electronic systems. + Engage in frequent bending and retrieving objects from various heights. + Lift over 50 pounds. + Capable of climbing ladders, and working in confined or elevated spaces. + Comfortable working at heights over 20’. + Work environment may include loud noise levels and varying lighting conditions, including + low light and strobe or bright lighting effects. Atmospheric haze and fog may be used. + Limitations should not hinder performance of essential tasks.
