Emerson Test and Measurement is seeking a hands-on, technically inclined Entry-Level Test Technician to join our DevOps team focused on building and maintaining Automated Test Systems. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with hardware, solving practical problems, and supporting a robust internal testing infrastructure! You’ll be part of a collaborative team that partners with internal engineering groups to design, build, and maintain custom test setups. The work involves everything from soldering and assembling hardware to configuring servers and debugging system-level software. You’ll also help maintain the infrastructure that supports our testing ecosystem, including hardware replacements and system updates.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Hardware-Centric Test System Development:
Assemble and wire up test stations, including soldering components and integrating sensors, boards, and connectors.
Set up and configure servers and workstations used in automated testing environments.
Ensure physical reliability and uptime of test setups.
Infrastructure Maintenance & Support:
Replace and upgrade hardware components such as hard drives, power supplies, and cabling.
Monitor and maintain the health of internal systems that support automated testing.
Assist in deploying and updating software tools used in test environments.
Debugging & Troubleshooting:
Diagnose issues in physical connections, signal integrity, and system behavior.
Use basic software tools to verify system performance and assist in debugging test failures.
Collaborate with software engineers to resolve integration issues.
Client Collaboration:
Work with internal teams to understand testing needs and deliver tailored hardware/software solutions.
Provide feedback and suggestions to improve test system reliability and usability.
Documentation & Process Improvement:
Maintain records of test setups, configurations, and maintenance activities.
Contribute to continuous improvement efforts in test system design and infrastructure reliability.
Who You Are:
You’re a hands-on problem solver who thrives in a technical, fast-paced environment. You enjoy working with hardware, tinkering with systems, and figuring out how things work. You’re curious, detail-oriented, and eager to learn. Whether it’s soldering a circuit or debugging a server setup, you take pride in building reliable systems that support broader engineering goals. You communicate well, collaborate effectively, and are always looking for ways to improve processes and outcomes.
For This Role, You Will Need:
Associate’s degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
