The Delivery, Device and Connected Solutions (DDCS) organization within Eli Lilly and Company supports the design, development, and commercialization of drug products and pharmaceutical delivery systems, including medical devices and container closure systems.
This position is in the Test Method Development team within Mechanical Engineering and Materials in DDCS, which plays a crucial role in enabling a rich pipeline of novel delivery devices. Responsibilities include but are not limited to test system selection and/or development, test fixture design, test method development, and device testing support. This involves a fundamental understanding of mechanical systems and of the test and measurement process.
Key Objectives / Deliverables:
Ensure the test methods and characterization efforts under development are appropriately assessed from the perspective of fundamental materials characterization and device/packaging performance.Develop and own comprehensive test plans for products under development for clinical trial and launch with respect to regulations, standards, and company quality systems.Devise novel testing approaches when existing methods and/or equipment are not appropriate by sourcing or creating new test equipment.Use engineering first principles, statistics, and Six Sigma concepts to develop robust test methods.Participate in design reviews, risk assessment, and root cause analysis using common FMEA or Fault Tree analysis.Document work clearly, accurately, and with high quality.Manage work as part of overall teamEstablish experimental protocols, conduct experiments, analyze results, and document the informationEnsure individual and departmental compliance with the laws, regulations, guidelines, procedures, and practices governing drug research and development, including the departmental and corporate standard operating, good manufacturing, and safety proceduresEnsure that people and their environment are safe and that company policies concerning safety are followed

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$64,500 - $143,000Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
