Test Facility Supervisor
Job Description

Work Arrangement

This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Global Technical Center in Warren, MI on a full-time basis.

The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Facilities Supervisor to lead the daily operations of our testing facility. This role requires a strong foundation in safety practices, logistics operations, and facilities management. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who excels at enforcing safe work practices, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and driving operational excellence in a dynamic environment.


What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

Ensure compliance with GM safety protocols and foster a strong culture of safety across the facility

Lead and enforce safe work practices through regular safety walk-throughs and employee engagement

Manage facility operations, including coordination with leaseholders, maintenance teams, and vendors

Oversee logistics activities and ensure alignment with industry best practices

Collaborate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to maintain seamless operations

Support shipping, receiving, and inventory logistics as needed

Utilize systems such as GComply and GRisk to manage safety compliance and risk mitigation

Contribute to Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) initiatives, including Business Plan Deployment

Serve as the primary point of contact for contractors, vendors, and onsite managers

Manage visitor access, notifications, and facility communications

Maintain facility layout and workplace organization (WPO), including storage optimization, labeling, and housekeeping standards



Additional Job Description

Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications)

3+ years of experience in logistics facility operations and supervision

Experience conducting safety walk-throughs, audits, or inspections to identify hazards and promote safe practices (e.g., Safety Observation Tours (SOT) or similar programs)

Familiarity with industry-standard safety protocols and compliance practices

Proven success in facilities management, including coordination with leaseholders and service providers

Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to drive safety and operational discipline

What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

Experience working with third-party logistics (3PL) providers

Background in shipping, receiving, and logistics operations

Exposure to Safety Buy-Off and Integrated SFMEA (Systems Failure Modes and Effects Analysis), or similar compliance and risk management tools
