Job Description
Responsible for managing test labs across multiple locations, comprised of engineers and technicians dedicated to High Current Testing, Shock & Vibration Testing, Environmental testing including Ingress testing as well as Temperature Rise testing. Works with Development, Manufacturing, Quality, Procurement, and the Strategic Sourcing Organization to establish short- and long-range goals for Rockwell Automation.
Performs staff management duties including planning and leading technical personnel, as well as managing expense & capital to meet the needs of PPT customers. Acts as a business liaison for external customers to book unused lab time and maximize lab utilization and optimize costs. You will work onsite at our Milwaukee, WI headquarters. You will report to the Chemistry and Materials Engineering Manager.
Your Responsibilities:All technical aspects of Product Performance Testing for RA internal and external customers.Possesses In-depth knowledge of electrical short circuit, overload, endurance and temperature rise testing; in-depth knowledge of mechanical shock and vibration, ingress and HALT testing.Assuring that the PQS Product Performance Testing Labs and Development Labs are using the appropriate testing technologiesSchedule usage of laboratory manpower and equipment. Resolve scheduling conflicts.Provides long range equipment utilization plansMaintains lab accreditation to relevant agencies & standards.Coaches and motivates employees toward achieving established goals.Increases the productive capacity of the working group by initiating new ideas.Encourages openness to diverse opinions and approaches.Anticipates needs for change and adapts own goals and behaviors to respond to change.
