Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Test Engineering Manager 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Test and Evaluation organization. This leadership role is located in Edwards, AFB, CA.
Northrop Grumman is committed to a long term relationship with NASA Armstrong to support Range Hawk Sky Range mission support for a DoD customer and is seeking an Engineering Manager 02 for the Test Engineering Section. The team is in the development and operations stage of several new technologies that will enhance testing of new weapon systems across Atlantic & Pacific Test Ranges. The long range RQ-4 aircraft will support the missions from Armstrong/ EAFB, Kaneohe MCAS in HI, and NASA Wallops Flight Facility in VA. The NG staffing and support is expected to grow in the coming years as the number of test mission grows. The selected manager will act as a section manager and support NASA assignments as well as FHR requirements.
Roles and responsibilities:
Manage and lead the NG Test Engineering Section supporting the NASA Sky Range development and missions
Assist NASA leadership in managing aircraft mods and operations of existing and expected future RQ-4 aircraft
Participate in technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for systems
Perform quarterly evaluations for members of the NG team
Maintain NG team training, staff meetings, safety emphasis, timely training and certifications of your team, regular 1on1 meetings and engagement
Help plan program mission support and assign NG employees to meet goals and priorities
Ensure that company and NASA policies and procedures are clearly defined and followed
Coordinate integrated testing activities working in a dynamic people-focused environment
Interface with internal and external customers

Basic Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 9 years of related professional work experience OR a Master's degree in a STEM discipline AND 7 years of related professional work experience OR 4 years of related work experience with a PhD
Must have 2+ years of prior management or experience leading a team
Must have U.S. Citizenship and an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
Must have ability to obtain and maintain Access (PAR) within a reasonable period, as determined by the company to meet its business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule
Demonstrated experience in test planning and test execution
3-5 years of flight test experience
RQ-4 or other large UAV experience
Primary Level Salary Range: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
