CTG is seeking to fill a Test Engineer opening for our client in Whitsett, NC. Location: Whitsett, NC (hybrid remote) Duration: 12+ months, contract to hire Duties: Manage the planning, development, and implementation of procedures for testing and evaluation of standard and special devices. Specify tests to be performed, compile data, and recommend changes required in testing equipment, procedures, manufacturing processes, and test equipment design. Recommend purchases of test equipment. Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure efficient operation of the function. Supervise and support the test engineering team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Ensure adherence to established processes for functional test support and structural test development. Monitor test performance data through digital tools and identify improvement opportunities. Lead efforts to enhance test yields, reduce cycle times, and improve product quality. Collaborate with manufacturing engineering and process engineering teams on technical issues and corrective actions. Provide coaching and direction for functional/system test support, test station releases, issue resolution, documentation updates, and operator/technician assistance. Generate reports and communicate test/product issues to relevant stakeholders. Drive customer engagements by explaining test engineering capabilities and supporting technical discussions. Define requirements, plan, schedule, and track milestones and costs for new projects. Assign responsibilities, monitor performance, and balance workloads within the test engineering group. Mentor less experienced engineers and contribute to the development of new testing policies and procedures. Engage in independent research to solve complex technical problems. Support project management and contribute to achieving organizational engineering goals. Maintain focus on customer satisfaction, innovation, and efficient project execution. Skills: Strong leadership and coaching abilities within a test engineering or manufacturing environment. Proficiency with data analysis tools and test monitoring systems. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and implement process improvements. Capable of managing multiple priorities and working with minimal supervision. Strong technical writing, communication, and presentation skills. Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and collaborate cross-functionally. Effective project planning, organizational, and team coordination capabilities. Experience: Minimum 5–7 years of experience in mechanical or test engineering roles within a manufacturing or production environment. Proven experience managing engineering teams and supporting high-volume operations. Hands-on involvement with test systems, product validation, and quality assurance practices. Experience interacting directly with customers on technical subjects is preferred. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline required. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
