Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Test Engineer for a premier client located in Dearborn, Michigan. In this exciting position, you’ll play a key role in the creation of next-generation electric vehicle propulsion systems. You will be responsible for the validation and reliability testing of EV traction inverters and related sub-components. Your contributions will directly support development of HV power electronics for current and future model electrified powertrains. As a phenomenal teammate, you will build impact by collaborating across the Electrified Powertrain Engineering organization and with key work partners throughout the company. Key responsibilities include test development and execution, data analysis and reporting, lab operations and management, and collaboration and support across teams.

Skills and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical or Mechanical)
3+ years of experience with validation testing of traction inverters, power electronic devices or other electronics modules
3+ years of experience using electrical test and measurement equipment (e.g. oscilloscopes, power meters, voltage/current probes)
3+ years of experience with test data post processing and simulation using a numerical computational tool (e.g. MATLAB, GNU Octave, etc.)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience with LabVIEW
Experience with AVL
Master’s degree in electrical engineering with a
specialization in power systems/electronics
Direct hands-on experience testing traction inverters including design verification, environmental and durability testing
Knowledge of high power/high voltage inverter design topologies
Familiarity with HV safety training/standard methodologies
Knowledge of ISO test equipment calibration requirements/practices
Knowledge of Microcontroller operation and interface – CAN based communications
Knowledge of Systems engineering, managing systems interfaces to ensure subsystem robustness
Knowledge of developing Quality disciplines including but not limited to DFMEA, DVP&R null
