Job Description
We are seeking a Principal Test Engineer to collaborate with the design team in developing electro-mechanical tests for autonomous programs. This role involves driving the creation and execution of effective test plans that enhance customer satisfaction and minimize warranty claims.
ResponsibilitiesWork with the design team to develop electro-mechanical tests for autonomous programs.Participate in and support the cultural adoption of Accelerated Reliability Test Strategies across the organization.Drive the development of standardized test and reporting processes to ensure site-to-site repeatability.Create and execute effective test plans to minimize warranty claims and improve customer satisfaction.Provide primary technical expertise in designing and executing complex testing programs for critical technologies and designs.Conduct accelerated testing of electro-mechanical systems and machines.Develop and troubleshoot tests for complex electro-mechanical autonomous machines.Essential SkillsValidationTest equipmentTest engineeringTest plan developmentAdditional Skills & QualificationsBachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution; a Master's degree is preferred.At least 8 years of professional experience with a proven track record of delivering excellent products on-time.Experience with electro-mechanical testing and troubleshooting of autonomous systems.Knowledge of CANopen buses and frameworks.PLC programming experience, particularly with Automation Direct.Hands-on experience with benchtop test equipment such as digital multimeters (DMMs) and oscilloscopes.Vibration test experience in time and frequency domains including modal analysis.Formal training and experience in LEAN, Six Sigma (Greenbelt), and/or Design for Six Sigma (DFSS).Work Environment
This position offers a hybrid schedule, with onsite work required from Tuesday to Thursday.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $100.00/hr.
