Job description
Test engineer is responsible for develop, integrate, and implementing automated test systems with high knowledge in electronic systems, Mechanics, Programming software, and electronic design.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain test procedures, as well as equipment and systems for circuit board manufacture. Research and development in new methods, equipment design and systems to improve test procedures.
Ability to work with testing, manufacturing, and quality using historical data to measure test equipment performance and improve test systems.
Provide accurate and written test procedures, maintenance routines/spare parts list used in manufacturing.
Provide technical training and support to manufacturing lines.
Document projects according to active guidelines and formats.
Function as a responsible member of the team with the product engineer, quality personnel and manufacturing in order to maintain a high quality and productivity performance.
Assist and support development and training programs for manufacturing personnel in testing.
Follow up on ISO 9000 and implement effective corrective actions.
Accomplish with regulations and procedures applicable in the company.
Authority:
Responsible for optimal test equipment operation, offering the required support focused to improve current designs to improve the quality of test equipment.
Basic requirements:
Bachelor of science in electrical engineering, mechatronics and/or electromechanics.
3 year relevant experience In testing for circuit board manufacturing.
Background on ICT, vision systems & functional tests used in circuit board manufacture.
Background on Six Sigma statistical methods, including DOE, Cpk, and gR&R
Proficient reading schematics.
Practical knowledge on programming Software, such as C/C++, CVI, LabView, Visual Basic, etc.
Bilingual (English-Spanish) 80%.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing
Knowledge in IPC610 Acceptability.
Knowledge of ergonomics.
Desirable requirements:
Ability to solve problems using statistical methods: preferably Six Sigma
Strong organizational, time management, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to select test equipment.
Experience in the manufacturing industry (product assembly) maintenance of test equipment and PC, PLC programming
