**Job Title: Test Automation Engineer (1-Year Contract)** **Location: Zurich, Switzerland** **Start Date: As soon as possible** **Contract Duration: 12 months** **Industry: banking and financial services** **Workload: 100%** **Languages: English (German a plus)** **About the Role** We are looking for an experienced Test Automation Engineer to join our client in Zurich for a 12-month contract. You will play a key role in ensuring the quality and stability of a complex, business-critical platform, working in a dynamic environment alongside cross-functional teams. This role requires someone with strong testing skills, self-drive, and the ability to operate independently while maintaining a clear overview of interconnected applications and testing progress. **Key Responsibilities** + Design, plan, and execute functional and regression tests in a complex technical environment. + Drive test automation using Java, Selenium, BDD/Cucumber. + Experience in Automation Frameworks using Selenium + Scripting New test cases and maintaning / enhancing existing test cases + Prepare and maintain test plans, identifying dependencies and risks early. + Communicate testing status and progress clearly across multiple stakeholders. + Collaborate with teams on product iteration planning, backlog refinement, and feature breakdown. + Proactively manage and improve automation repositories. + Perform SQL-based data and ETL testing using Oracle SQL; PostgreSQL knowledge is a plus. + Participate in cross-application testing efforts, including broader initiatives like the client migration. + Support performance testing (LoadRunner experience is a plus). + Leverage tools like GitLab CI/CD for test integration and reporting. **Your Profile** + 5+ years of experience in software testing (functional and regression) in complex environments. + 3+ years hands-on experience in test automation. + Strong Oracle SQL skills (PostgreSQL is a plus). + Experience with Java, Selenium, BDD (Cucumber). + Familiarity with GitLab pipelines and LoadRunner is advantageous. + Strong communication and presentation skills. + Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage dependencies and deadlines. + A proactive and self-motivated team player who takes ownership and isn’t afraid to ask for support when needed.
