This position is responsible for administrative duties in support of daily rail switching and unloading operations, with a focus on managing product flow at a fuel terminal that transloads multiple fuel types from railcar to tank, and from tank to track.

Must be able to successfully complete a physical, drug screen and background check

Pay Rate: $25.00-$28.00 per hour depending on qualifications

Schedule: 5:00 pm – 1:00 am (overtime as needed) Monday-Friday

Railserve is a leading provider of in-plant rail switching, transloading, and material handling services — operating at over 75 locations in North America. We use our own locomotives and employees to safely move railcars within industrial, manufacturing and production plants. The Role:

This position is responsible for administrative duties in support of daily rail switching and unloading operations, with a focus on managing product flow at a fuel terminal that transloads multiple fuel types from railcar to tank, and from tank to track.

What you'd be doing:

Compile data, prepare, and send out reports and business correspondence.Run estimates for all railcars in the unloading racks.Relay information via radio; what/how much to unload, railcar movement, etc.Maintain train log data.Release railcars to Class 1 Railroad.Submit paperwork packages to Site Leader and Customer; packages include track list, load reports, inspections, bills of lading, etc.Track all bad-order railcars.Communicate with customers, employees, and other individuals to answer questions, disseminate or explain information, take orders, and address complaints.General administrative duties include but are not limited to billing, answering telephones, typing or word processing, office machine operation, and filing.Occasionally will scan trains/rail cars by walking on the ballast outdoors in the rail yard to perform a visual account of company equipment and its condition.Manage product inventories and ensure accurate tracking of fuel types transloaded at the terminal.Other duties may be assigned.

High school diploma (or equivalent)1-2 years administrative experience, preferably in an industrial and/or logistics environmentExperience in the petrochemical industry preferred but not required.Knowledge of the DTN system is highly desirable.Military experience helpful

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Must be highly detail-oriented and possess excellent organization skills.Superior communication skills; must be comfortable engaging in a variety of different communicative modes (verbal, non-verbal, and written) and being attuned to others through strong active listening skills.Ability to assess multiple tasks and develop a plan to complete them in a timely manner.Must have the ability to work well with others as part of a team.Proficient in the Microsoft Office products (Word and Excel).Proficiency with Yardmaster software a plus.Experience in managing product inventories and ensuring accurate tracking of fuel types transloaded at the terminal.

The employee works in an industrial office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, or fumes when in the plant environment. This incumbent occasionally works in an outdoor environment, in various weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
