The University of Virginia (UVA) Department of Public Health Sciences (PHS) is seeking applicants for a tenured or tenure-eligible faculty position at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor of **Biostatistics** to support the UVA Comprehensive Cancer Center (UVACCC) Biostatistics Shared Resource (BSR), along with conducting other research within PHS. The candidate will develop and lead a multidisciplinary research program along with contributing to team science collaboration in support of the mission of the Cancer Center. The successful candidate will **preferably conduct research and education in clinical trials and/or clinical biostatistics, and collaborate in cancer clinical and basic science studies** . In addition, the position will provide opportunities for developing his/her own high-impact statistical research. The successful applicant must be motivated, independent and highly organized, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Finally, the successful applicant will have teaching and service responsibilities, and is expected to participate in appropriate national and international organizations. PHS offers a vibrant academic home with access to rich datasets and support services for research. The department provides comprehensive and multi-disciplinary scientific and analytical services to the University of Virginia School of Medicine through its Divisions of Biomedical Informatics; Biostatistics; Translational Research and Applied Statistics; and Health Promotion and Disease Prevention. The Department offers two master degrees, an MS in Clinical Research and an MPH. Successful candidates will contribute to the design and implementation of the graduate education curriculum; teach intermediate and advanced graduate level methods courses, conduct research, and advance scholarship in their area of expertise.
