As Tendering Team Manager, you will lead a small, dynamic team of Tendering Engineers and play a pivotal role in delivering competitive, high-quality bids and proposals for our customers across the UK. Based in Daresbury and supporting our Motion High Power (MOHP) business, you’ll combine technical expertise with commercial insight to drive success.

Your Role and Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact.

·Lead and motivate a team of Tendering Engineers to deliver accurate, timely bids and proposals aligned with customer requirements and business objectives

·Collaborate with Sales and Application Engineering to develop competitive pricing strategies and high-quality work scopes.

·Oversee the full proposal lifecycle, from opportunity screening and approvals through to submission, using Salesforce CRM.

·Ensure compliance with government contracting requirements and commercial terms

·Balance multiple priorities effectively, managing deadlines and setting clear expectations with stakeholders.

·Understand contractual terms to assess commercial risk and pricing implications

·Contribute to ongoing process improvements and maintain strong relationships across ABB units and external customers.

Qualifications for the Role

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.

Minimum 5 years of experience in Tendering, Bids & Proposal or Estimator.

Experience with Drives and Motors is an advantage.

Basic knowledge in electrical Single Line Diagram, Technical Specifications & Clarifications.

Basic knowledge in Risk Management, Financial Acumen, Contracts & Legal clauses.

Willingness to work extended hours during peak periods to meet tender deadlines.

Some previous line management experience is preferrable.

You will be fluent in English
